Akshay led a prominent asset reconstruction company in its resolution process for acquiring a major telecommunication company under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. This included strategy formulation, drafting of resolution plans, and negotiations with the Committee of Creditors. The resolution plan received approval from NCLT, Mumbai. This unique resolution process involved a pioneering structure compliant with the IBC and entailed restructuring debt of approximately INR 60,000 crores.
Akshay advised the committee of creditors for a significant power generation project undergoing insolvency, involving a debt of around INR 14,350 crores.
Akshay provided counsel to a leading auto component manufacturer regarding the proposed acquisition of a sizable automotive company under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
Akshay, as founder of SageCounsel, advised on sale of a 165MW solar energy park to a leading private equity backed renewable energy platform.

Akshay, as founder of SageCounsel, devised entire strategy and managed litigaiton in shareholder dispute before Hon’ble National Company Law Tribunal.
Akshay represented a major telecom service provider in India in an international commercial arbitration concerning a claim of approximately $100 million against a multinational telecom equipment manufacturer based in the USA. Akshay advised and strategized on various shareholder and other business disputes.
Akshay advocated for a telecom service provider before the Department of Telecommunications and Telecom Dispute Settlement Appellate Tribunal concerning a show cause notice for penalty imposition and license cancellation.
Akshay represented a prominent power transmission company before the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, seeking the grant of India's first transmission license involving 100% private investment.
Akshay represented a major infrastructure company before the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission for the grant of a second distribution license in a key municipal area. This was a pioneering application under the Electricity Act, 2003.
As an outside/external general counsel, Akshay as founder of SageCounsel represents a mid-sized IT service provider advising on legal strategy with entire legal function outsourced to SageCounsel (including advising on contracts, employment, and other legal issues).
As an outside/external general counsel, Akshay as founder of SageCounsel supports a fintech startup, valued at approx. USD 600 million and backed by major global investors, for strategic legal advice.
Akshay, as founder of SageCounsel, structured and drafted supply chain agreements and a master franchise agreement for different services for a agro-food and agro-finance company.
At largest airline company in India, Akshay, as Associate General Counsel, led various departments and was instrumental in structuring, drafting, and negotiating various IT, engineering, aircraft acquisition and commercial contracts. He also played a pivotal role in aircraft leasing and sale transactions and led strategy for high stake issues at the airline.
