SageCounsel was born from the vision of our founder, Akshay, a seasoned legal professional with an illustrious 20-year career. His journey, marked by significant milestones such as being partner with leading law firms of the country, being associate general counsel with a large cap listed company and largest aviation company, becoming the youngest senior associate at J. Sagar Associates (JSA), securing an LL.M at Columbia University as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and passing the NY Bar on his first attempt, is a testament to his dedication and prowess in the field of law.

However, Akshay's journey was not just about professional achievements. It was also a journey of personal evolution, a shift from a self-centric perspective to a more holistic and integrative approach that considers clients' needs and organizational systems. Alongside his deep-rooted experience in corporate law, he developed a keen interest in Heartfulness meditation, executive coaching, and peaceful dispute resolution (mediation), which further enriched his perspective.

Akshay's unique ability to see beyond the surface of issues, to understand the human factor and the bigger picture, led him to a significant realization. He identified a gap in the legal services market for foreign clients, subsidiaries of foreign multinational companies, start-ups and mid-sized clients, who needed high-quality, holistic, and client-centric advice that larger law firms often couldn't provide due to their focus on large corporations.

This realization sparked the inception of SageCounsel.
